Annemijn Boogaard and Bart Veeze shine during semifinal Subli Competition
On Saturday, December 9, after eight selection competitions, it was time for the semi-finals of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses. Only the best combinations had a starting ticket for this semi-final in Harmelen. There was good competition with high scores at the top of the standings. In the four-year-old class Annemijn Boogaard rode a very strong preseason with Oxxi Lena and also during the semi-finals they performed strongly by convincingly taking the win. The class for five-year-olds was won by last year's four-year-old winner Bart Veeze with Nero.
In the four-year-olds, 12 horses were selected for the semi-finals and in the five-year-olds, 16 combinations competed. At stake was a ticket to the coveted final on January 25, 2024 during Jumping Amsterdam. Only five combinations per age group may compete in the impressive arena of RAI Amsterdam for the title in the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses.
Judges very impressed with four-year-old Oxxi Lena
Judges Adriaan Hamoen and Patricia Wolters were very impressed with the four-year-old Oxxi Lena presented by Annemijn Boogaard. Therefore, there was no doubt that this combination was going to win the class. Judge Adriaan Hamoen explained: "First of all, it is a very quality horse with three very fine good gaits. But the deciding factor was really the way Oxxi Lena was presented. So honest, flowing, nice off the hand and obvious; very nice to watch. Annemijn made everything look very easy and that really is an art. Compliments for that." The judges were also very pleased with number two Renate van Uytert with O'Toto Van De Wimphof. Adriaan: "This is a very big-framed horse with a lot of quality. He could only have been ridden a little more from the hand for even higher marks." Completing the podium was Mercedes Verweij and Oliver R Tambo Sv in third place.
Exciting battle in five-year-old dressage class with Bart Veeze and Nero winning
There were also nice scores in the class for five-year-old dressage horses. Bart Veeze already won the final with Nero at the beginning of this year during Jumping Amsterdam in the four-year-olds and also this year in the five-year-olds the combination managed to leave a strong impression with the judges. Adriaan Hamoen says: "The top three in this class were certainly evenly matched. The scores were close together. However, Bart Veeze's Nero just stood out for us. The highlight of this horse is definitely the walk for which we scored a 9.5. But he also has a great canter, with lots of jump and ease. Kim Noordijk came second just behind with This is Naqueen. This big-framed horse has three good gaits and was presented super correct. But sometimes we also saw some moments of tension. This is a combination we can still expect a lot from." Third and fourth place went to Femke de Laat with Network and Nashville Sw, respectively. Thanks to her good performance in the semifinals, Femke is her own reserve for the final in Amsterdam. The rider is only allowed to start one horse in the final and therefore has to choose who she takes to Amsterdam. That means that number 6 Febe van Zwambagt with Newport will also be delegated to the final.

Only five combinations per age division may compete for the win during the exciting final at Jumping Amsterdam. The following combinations will enter the dressage ring at the Amsterdam RAI on Jan. 25, 2024, for the title fight:

Femke de Laat and Danielle Heijkoop win final selection Subli Competition
On Saturday, November 11, the last selection competition of this season of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses was held in Berkel-Enschot. The results were very close in both classes. The class for four year olds was won by Femke de Laat with Oromance. In the class for five-year-olds the victory went again to Danielle Heijkoop with Nordic Blue Hors. This combination already won the qualifier of Tolbert.
Lots of competition in the section for four-year-olds
The class for four-year-olds had a large field of participants with 19 combinations. The horses and their riders were judged by judges Karin Retera and Janine van Twist who were very pleased with the quality of the participants. Janine explains: "A large group also means a lot of competition and this made for a wide leading group in the final results. We saw many good combinations pass by and fine young horses that were presented nicely. Femke de Laat's winning horse Oromance showed a lot of balance in the trot and a fine workable walk. Trial technique was top notch. This horse is definitely on the right track for a bright future. And also very important; he was presented very friendly and nicely by his rider Femke. Nice on his own legs and with a nice touch. Second place went to Annemijn Boogaard with Oxxi Lena. This horse has three fine gaits and scored very high in the walk. Renate van Uytert-van Vliet finished third with O'Toto Van De Wimphof. This horse has a correct walk and canter but excels especially in the trot. He received a 9 for that."
Nordic Blue Hors and Night Watch shine in the section for five-year-olds
In the class for five-year-olds, judges Mathie Boomaars and Jeanette Wolfs-Dielissen were also very satisfied with the group of riders they were allowed to judge. Jeannette says: "We have seen a nice group of horses in the ring, the quality was very high. There was also good riding by the riders, most horses were presented very nicely. Some horses were still a bit spooky, but that is not so strange for those young horses in such a competition environment. Nordic Blue Hors of Danielle Heijkoop is a very fine and sturdy horse with a strong hind leg. He was really the winner for us. He excelled in his walk and got a 9 for that. With this rider we see a good future for this talented horse. Right behind, Beni Pachl finished second with Nachtwacht. This combination stood out because of the way it was presented, very light on the hand. There was definitely a fine harmony. Nachtwacht is also a very complete horse and showed a fine relaxed test."
Balance for the semifinals
After this last selection competition in Berkel-Enschot the balance can be drawn. Only the best fifteen combinations of this season will receive an invitation to the semi-final on December 9 in Harmelen. During this semi-final only the best five combinations can conquer a starting ticket for the exciting final which will be held again this season on January 25, 2024 during the unique equestrian event. Jumping Amsterdam.

Two wins for Bart Veeze at the second-to-last Subli Competition in Varsseveld
On Friday, October 6, the second-to-last selection competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses competed. This was one of the last opportunities for riders to collect the necessary points towards the semi-finals. Bart Veeze did good business in both the class for four-year-old and five-year-old dressage horses, winning both classes.
Podium places for Bart Veeze, Milou Drees and Dinja van Liere at four-year-olds
In the class for four-year-olds, 19 participants came to the start. The combinations were judged by judges Monica Drohm and Ineke Jansen who put high points at the top of the standings. By a wide margin the victory went to Bart Veeze with his stallion Entertainer Number One. He impressed with the four-year-old chestnut and scored a total of 86.6 points. Second place went to Milou Drees with her bay gelding SPH Splendid with a score of 81.4. Completing the podium was Dinja van Liere who rode her stallion On Air to a total of 79 points.
Bart Veeze, Judith Ribbels and Beni Pachl in prizes in five-year-olds section
In the class for five-year-old dressage horses, 15 combinations competed. They were judged in the ring by judges Bettine van Harselaar and Ellen van den Berg. The highest score of the day and the win was again for Bart Veeze who had saddled Nero for this class. With an overwhelming score of 89.6 he won his second qualifier with the five year old Ferguson gelding and can not escape participation in the semi-finals in Harmelen. Judith Ribbels also performed very well again with her mare Nanny Mc Phee and took second place with a score of 83.4. Beni Pachl received 82.4 points for his test with Nachtwacht and finished third.
Only one selection race to go
With only one selection competition left on the program this season, this is a good time to take stock of the standings. The last chance for riders to select for the semi-finals is the league competition on November 11 in Berkel Enschot. After this competition the best fifteen combinations will receive an invitation to the semi-final which will be held in Harmelen in mid-December. During this semi-final only the best five combinations can win a starting ticket for the exciting final which will be held again this season on January 25, 2024 during the unique equestrian event Jumping Amsterdam.
Who are the biggest contenders for a spot in the semifinals?
In the four-year-olds, three combinations are invariably in the lead with all three scoring 35 points: Aniek de Laat with Oostrade, Dinja van Liere with On Air and Mercedes Verweij with Oliver R Tambo SV. Further down in the standings it is getting a lot more exciting and there are still several combinations that have a chance for a starting ticket for the semi-finals.
In the class for five-year-old dressage horses, there are currently two combinations convincingly in the lead: Bart Veeze with Nero and Febe van Zwambagt with Newport. Both combinations already have two victories to their name this season. Also for the class for four-year-olds, halfway through the standings anything can still happen. Which combinations may eventually compete for a coveted final ticket in Harmelen, depends on the results of the last selection round in Berkel Enschot.

Mercedes Verweij and Danielle Heijkoop win Subli Competition Tolbert
Last Sunday, September 3, another competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses took place. A large group of participants had traveled to the HJC Manege in Tolbert, Groningen to give their best with their young horses. In the four-year-old class it was an exciting denouement and Mercedes Verweij with Oliver R Tambo Sv narrowly won. The class for five-year-olds was convincingly won by Danielle Heijkoop with Nordic Blue Hors.
Wonderful scores for amazons Mercedes Verweij and Marije de Lange
The class for four-year-old dressage horses had as many as 26 participants. The riders were judged by judges Dirk de Haas and Hendrik van Esch who were very impressed with the head of the class. Judge Dirk de Haas says, "We were pleasantly surprised by the tests shown and saw many good quality horses in the ring. Especially the top six we enjoyed enormously and rewarded them with high points. But the numbers one Mercedes Verweij with Oliver R Tambo Sv and two Marije de Lange with Ohjay really stood out. The difference between the two horses was very small. They were both presented nicely by their riders. Mercedes' score of 84.4 for Oliver R Tambo Sv could have been even higher because she forgot to show the neck stretching part of the test. However, her horse was presented very nicely closed for a four-year-old and showed a fine harmonious image, so her lead over Marije was just big enough to still win the class. But both horses have a lot of quality with potential for the future."
Subtop Dressage Multiday is great preparation for semifinals and finals
Judge Dirk continued: "The arena in which the participants had to ride the test proved very exciting for some of the horses. You could notice that they were not yet used to such an entourage. In view of the semi-finals and finals, this competition was therefore a nice preparation. Furthermore, there were several combinations who, in our opinion, had not arranged their test very logically. As judges we would like to give participants the opportunity to think about logical lines of the exercises in the test. Do not make it too difficult for your four-year-old horse. By riding too difficult lines a mistake in the bridle or tact is easily made and that is a shame and not really necessary. So don't make it too difficult for your horse and yourself and choose simple and logical lines that you can perform neatly and correctly."
Highest score for Danielle Heijkoop with her five-year-old stallion Nordic Blue Hors
In the class for five-year-old dressage horses, 17 combinations competed. The participants were judged by judges Jacques van der Harst and Paula Osterholt. The highest score in this class was for Danielle Heijkoop with her stallion Nordic Blue Hors who took the win convincingly with 81.6 points. Second place went to Judith Ribbels with her mare Nanny Mc Phee with 77.4 points. The podium was completed by Christel Heuseveldt with No Secret in third place.

Julie Faiazza and Febe van Zwambagt win Subli Competition Aerdenhout
Last Sunday, August 20, the participants in the fifth selection competition of the Subli Competition traveled to the Noord Hollandse Ruiter Vereniging in Aerdenhout. First place in the four-year-olds went to Julie Faiazza with Orange. Just like during the final selection match in Boxtel in the five-year-olds, Febe van Zwambagt with Newport was overwhelmingly the best.
In sun-drenched Aerdenhout, judges Dirk de Haas and Janine van Twist saw many quality horses pass by. The horses were nicely presented. In the class for four-year-old dressage horses no less than 15 combinations participated. In the class for five-year-olds the number of participants was a bit smaller. In both classes could be distributed nice scores.
The four-year-old combinations in the top three were very nicely balanced
It was Julie Faiazza with Orange who stood out here. Dirk de Haas says, "Her horse was super nicely balanced, with no unevenness. Orange walked with a very fine bridle and was powerful in motion." Second place went to Margriet Simonse with Olivia. "Her horse was also extremely balanced. Among the top three, we were very pleased with the balance anyway. The combinations were very nicely balanced, which is very clever for four-year-old horses." The final podium spot went to Mercedes Verweij and Olivier R Tambo Sv. "This horse stood out positively at the canter and earned the highest mark with this. He was able to switch very easily in the scope."
High score for Febe van Zwambagt
The class for five-year-olds was led by Febe van Zwambagt with a score of 85.8. "Newport is a great horse. The bridle looked very natural," said judge Dirk de Haas. Second place went to Julie Faiazza with the five-year-old horse Nalien with a score of 78.8. Dirk adds: "Nalien was presented nicely in balance by Julie. Moreover, this duo could have scored higher. She had forgotten the turning turn during her test, therefore we unfortunately had to give a penalty point."
Save enough energy for the actual trial
Dirk also wants to give the riders an important tip. "We had the idea with some four-year-old horses that they were a bit tired. As a rider you have to consider what you are doing before you start the test. Excessive pre-riding can reduce your horse's energy level to such an extent, just at that crucial moment when you want to give everything."

Annemijn Boogaard and Febe van Zwambagt take profit in Subli Competition Boxtel
The fourth competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses took place Sunday, July 16 at riding club Klavertje Vier in Boxtel. The participating combinations scored high. In the four year olds the victory went to Annemijn Boogaard with her horse Oxxi Lena. The class for five-year-olds was won by Febe van Zwambagt and Newport.
Both classes were judged in Boxtel by judges Dirk de Haas and Cindy Heijligers who were able to give high points to the different combinations. Judge Dirk de Haas says, "We saw a good group of horses in both the four-year-olds and five-year-olds, with a clear leading group.
Minimal difference between number one and two in the four-year-olds
In the four-year-olds, Annemijn with Boogaard with Oxxi Lena was rightfully the winner. Her horse showed the complete picture and was very nicely balanced for a four year old. Oxxi Lena went through the test with a very nice touch and nicely on her own legs. It was made difficult for this combination by number two Femke de Laat with Oromance. The difference between the two was very small. Oromance had a very appealing trot, but was sometimes still searching for balance. That just made the difference for the result."
All of them quality horses
In the class for five-year-old dressage horses, there was only a small field of competitors with six combinations but the level of performance was very high. Febe van Zwambagt with her horse Newport set the highest score of the day with a total of 88.240. Femke de Laat also presented her horse Network nicely in the ring. Their test was rewarded with a score of 84,840. Judge Dirk de Haas: "The group of five-year-olds may have been a bit small, but they were all quality horses. As judges we really enjoyed this class. Newport of Febe van Zwambagt was the most complete horse and won very deservedly. This horse has three very good gaits and even received a nine for the trot. The stallion was presented in a fine manner, nicely off the hand and remained well balanced throughout the test. We were also very pleased with Femke de Laat's stallion Network, who finished second. Femke presented Network very nicely and professionally. He only missed some power in the counter canter, but that is only a matter of time," Dirk concluded.

Dinja van Liere and Judith Ribbels win Subli Competition in Wapenveld
On Saturday, July 8, the third competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses was held in Wapenveld. The participating combinations rode very well. In the four year olds Dinja van Liere with On Air was clearly the best and the class for five year olds was won by Judith Ribbels and her mare Nanny Mc Phee.
Judges Jacques van der Harst and Dirk de Haas were very pleased with the combinations that competed in Wapenveld. Mr. Van der Harst said afterwards, "The riders rode very professionally. We were very impressed with the level of the horses and the way they were presented. We saw many horses with good movements. You can also clearly notice that the riders pay a lot of attention to the bridle and dare to ride more and more on length. I think that is a very positive development, especially with young horses. However, there is always room for improvement. Riders can sometimes let their young horses walk more on their own legs, with the nose out.
High points for Dinja van Liere with four-year-old On Air
With the winner of the four-year-olds, Dinja van Liere with On Air, that was certainly fat. This combination really stuck out. That is also reflected in our high score of 83.00. The horse walked nicely uphill, with sufficient length and good on the hind leg. Dinja knew how to present On Air very correctly and professionally. With Leonie Bos and her horse Origi van de Nethe, we saw especially a good canter and fine stride. This combination came second with a point total of 79.00. One point of interest is that we would have liked this horse to be presented a little more in length for better balance. But Origi van de Nethe is definitely a very good horse with a lot of potential."
Judith Ribbels and Nanny Mc Phee also successful at five-year-olds this season
Five combinations competed in the class for five-year-old dressage horses in Wapenveld. The highest score and the victory was for Judith Ribbels with her horse Nanny Mc Phee. Last year the combination competed in the Subli Competition for four-year-olds and finished fourth in the finals in Amsterdam. This season they are also in the top of the ranking in the five-year-olds. Judge Jacques van der Harst: "Judith certainly showed a good test with her horse. Especially the bends were very neat. Yet we noticed that there were also some moments of tension during the test. It would be nice if she could let her horse walk a bit more on her own legs so that the mare would use her back just a bit better."

Wins for Bart Veeze and Aniek de Laat at Subli Competition Exloo
On Sunday, June 25, the second competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses was on the program at Equestrian Center Exloo. During this sun-drenched day the riders managed to keep their cool and put down neat performances. In the five-year-olds Bart Veeze with Nero clearly left his calling card by winning the class with a top score of 92.00. In the four-year-olds Aniek de Laat was the best with her horse Oostrade.
Winning combination Subli Competition 2022 successful again
In both the class for four-year-old and five-year-old dressage horses, the judges were able to give nice points to the participating combinations. However, there was one combination that stood out this Sunday afternoon. Earlier this year Bart Veeze and Nero won the Subli Competition in the four-year-olds during Jumping Amsterdam. This year the successful combination competes again in the Subli Competition and this time in the five-year-olds. During their first competition competition this season they immediately managed to achieve a top score.
Bart says: "I am very satisfied with the test we were able to show. With Nero I am also in the selection process for the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses and after the previous selection competition we got some extra tips during a short training session. This Subli Competition was a good opportunity to work with that. I could ride him a little looser now. Even with the warm weather he was still super fit. At the end of the test he still had enough energy left. I think I suffered more from the heat than he did," Bart says with a laugh.
He continued: "Nero always runs through the test very easily. He is incredibly 'steady' and got high points for his gaits again this competition. For the walk even a ten and nines for the trot and canter. My goal is definitely to qualify for the semifinals again for this season of the Subli Competition, but I don't know exactly what the schedule will look like yet. First let's see how the World Cup selection process goes."
Other podium finishes for Jill Borgers and Aniek de Laat
Behind Bart Veeze and Nero, Jill Bogers and the stallion Number Two finished in a nice second place. Their neat and solid test was rewarded with an overall score of 78.40. Right behind, Aniek de Laat finished in third place who saddled her five-year-old Newton M and received a score of 77.40 from the judges.
Four-year-olds
Nine combinations competed in the class for four-year-old dressage horses in Exloo. In the top of the standings were neat points achieved by very experienced riders. The highest score and the victory was for Aniek de Laat with her horse Oostrade with a total of 79.00. The four-year-old stallion Blue Horse Freelance was ridden by Jill Bogers and the combination received 76.00 for their neat test. Completing the podium was Leonie Bos and Origi Van De Nethe in third place.

Femke de Laat and Renate van Uytert win Subli Competition Delft
The new season of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses began on May 30 at Equestrian Center The Prinsenstad in Delft got off to an energetic start. The competition for four- and five-year-old dressage horses had a nice field of competitors with some standouts at the top of the standings. Among the four-year-olds, Renate van Uytert-van Vliet was the best with O'Toto Van De Wimphof. The class for five-year-olds was won with great power by Femke de Laat and Nashville Sw.
The participants were judged in Delft in front of judges Patrick Berends and Bettine van Harselaar who were already able to give high points to the combinations this first competition. They were very impressed with the level of the participating combinations. Patrick says: "We have seen many fine horses that were certainly presented very friendly and harmoniously by the top of the ranking. Really a pleasure to watch as a judge."
23 combinations in the four-year-olds
No fewer than 23 combinations participated in the class for four-year-old dressage horses. The experienced rider Renate van Uytert-van Vliet had saddled this afternoon the four-year-old O'Toto Van De Wimphof, who was very much appreciated by the judges. O'Toto Van De Wimphof was presented very nicely by Renate which earned her a nice score of 84.80 and first place. "O'Toto Van De Wimphof is a great horse with absolutely amazing gaits. Especially on the trot he scored very high. So nice off the ground and so much connection for a four-year-old horse, fantastic. We also enjoyed watching Mara de Vries' Osibisa. This horse could only develop a little more power in canter, but we certainly see a lot of potential," said judge Patrick Berends.
Two podium finishes for Femke de Laat in the five-year-olds
The class for five-year-olds was led by a large margin by Femke de Laat with Nashville Sw. This combination has the necessary experience in the Subli Competition and shows to be in top form this season. Last year at Jumping Amsterdan Nashville Sw finished second in the final of the Subli Competition in the four-year-old division under Femke. This year they continued their strong performance in the five-year-olds. With a mega score of no less than 90.20 they immediately set the tone at the beginning of this competition. Besides Nashville Sw, Femke rode another horse in the class for five-year-olds. With Networks Ds she also showed a very solid test which was rewarded with a score of 80,80 and was good for third place. Femke looks back on the start of this competition with great satisfaction: "Both horses did really well. I noticed that Nashville has improved a lot the last few weeks. During the salute in the test I had the feeling that we could easily achieve a score of 90. The fact that we even beat that is fantastic. I am still amazed by his qualities and the feeling he gives me. He really is a complete horse with a great work ethic who will do anything for you. But Networks has also developed tremendously recently and I am very satisfied with it." Judge Patrick Berend also has nothing but praise for Nashville: "The qualities of this horse cannot really be described with words, you can only enjoy that. So much power and jump in the canter, really incredible. That promises something for the future." Completing the podium was Thalia Rockx who rode her horse Naomyi De La Fazenda to a nice score of 81.40, good for second place.

Jumping Amsterdam and Subli extend cooperation
Jumping Amsterdam and Subli have extended their cooperation until 2026. "The all-deciding final of the previous edition could fortunately take place again at Jumping Amsterdam and it was really fantastic to be back here. It is the dream of every rider to be able to ride there. With the Subli Competition we can offer this unique opportunity," said Remco Zuidam, product and sales manager of Subli.
The 2023 Subli Competition gets underway
The Subli Competition for four- and five-year-old dressage horses is about to start again. This year the competition consists of eight selection competitions (both indoor and outdoor), a semi-final and the final. The two best results from the selection competitions count for placement in the semi-finals, where the best fifteen horses per age group may participate. The best five horses per age group will be invited to the finals during Jumping Amsterdam. The first selection race of the new season will be held in Delft on Tuesday, May 30. You can register through the Equicompetition website.
Good exercise
"The Subli Competition is a beautiful competition, the selection competitions are held at beautiful accommodations. It is a good exercise for young horses and you can see how your horse is doing compared to his peers," says Renate van Uytert-van Vliet. Riders are allowed to put together their own tests, but a number of mandatory exercises must be shown. "It is one of the few competitions in which young stallions are also allowed to participate."
Education and training
Irene Verheul, general director of Jumping Amsterdam, added: "Education and training are very important to us, in the broadest sense of the word. That this coincides with training Holland's best young horses is completely in keeping with Jumping Amsterdam."

Bart Veeze and Beni Pachl excel during semifinal Subli Competition
Only the best competitors from the previous nine selection competitions of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses were allowed to participate in the semi-finals on Saturday, December 10 in Harmelen. This select group was well ridden with Bart Veeze and Nero coming out on top in the four-year-olds class. The class for five-year-olds was won by Beni Pachl with Hexagons Miamanda.
In the four-year-olds, 15 horses were selected for the semi-finals and in the five-year-olds, 11 combinations came to the start of the semi-finals of the Subli Competition 2022. At stake was a ticket to the coveted final on January 26, 2023 during Jumping Amsterdam. Only five combinations per age division may compete in the RAI Amsterdam for the title in the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses.
Four-year-olds
Bart Veeze entered the ring with Nero as second and immediately impressed the judges present Adriaan Hamoen and Floor Droge. Judge Adriaan Hamoen spoke full of praise for the winner: "The horse Nero possesses incredible quality. It all looks very natural and he goes through the arena with the greatest ease with his ears on. Nero is a horse with an awful lot of power. Especially his walk is a big plus and we rewarded it with a 9.5. He is also presented very professionally by Bart. This combination really makes us very happy."
Bart himself was also very happy with his performance. He says: "Nero gives me a very nice feeling. He runs the test very steady and nowhere does it get too difficult for him. That's really exceptional for a four-year-old. Our high score of 88 was a nice and nice confirmation of my good feeling about the test. I am very much looking forward to riding the final with him in Amsterdam. I very much hope that this edition may go ahead during Jumping Amsterdam. Because of all the coronagraphs it was always canceled at the last minute while I had good horses in previous editions. But I am confident that I can now ride Nero in the RAI. I'm sure it will be super fun!"
The judges were also very pleased with number 2 Femke de Laat with Nashville Sw. Adriaan: "The overall picture looked very good and the horse showed a lot of power in the trot. We would only have liked to see a little more activity in the walk."
Both Bart and Femke are their own reserve for the finals in Amsterdam. Femke finished fifth with her other horse Nox and Bart finished sixth with his second horse Nirvana (he also rode this horse during the award ceremony). Both are only allowed to start one horse in the final and have to choose who they will take to Amsterdam. That also means that number 7 Charissa Buurmeijer with No Limit will also be delegated to the final.
Five-year-olds
There were also neat scores in the class for five-year-old dressage horses. The results were certainly very close at the top of the standings, but it was Beni Pachl who made the difference with Hexagons Miamanda and finished on top. Judge Adriaan Hamoen was very satisfied with this combination: "Miamanda has three very correct gaits and was presented very correctly. The combination just missed a fraction of activity in the walk. The scores were very close because right behind, Renate van Uytert-van Vliet with My Blue Horse Santiano deservedly came second. That horse is really a powerhouse and can canter very well. There were just some small disturbances in the test and we would have liked a little more control in the test. But definitely a great horse with a lot of potential for the future."
