Rituals De La Fazenda and Perfect Ritme win semi-final of Subli Competition
December 15, 2025

After six selection competitions in the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses, the semi-finals were held in Harmelen on Saturday. In the four-year-old category, Rituals De La Fazenda (by Magnum De La Fazenda) with Thalia Rockx took a convincing victory. The best five-year-old was Perfect Ritme (by Lord Europe), presented by Kim Noordijk.
Both age categories in the semi-finals, for which fifteen combinations per age category had qualified through the selections, were judged by Janine van Twist and Adriaan Hamoen. “We saw a lot of horses with great quality, with the leading groups standing out. We were able to let both quality and harmony prevail,” says Janine van Twist. “The great thing about the Subli Competition is that it's not just about the quality of the horse, but also about the technical aspects of the test; it's both. It also provides riders with information on whether they are on the right track with their horse in training. We saw a very nice group and I think it's a good delegation for Amsterdam.”
Rituals De La Fazenda convincingly wins
In the four-year-olds, Rituals De La Fazenda under Thalia Rockx achieved the highest score of 81.8. Rufus Van ‘T Houtsche (by Jameson RS2), presented by Lotje Schoots, followed in second place with 77.6, and two combinations scored 76.2. After applying the tiebreaker rule, Razzmatazz (by Vitalis) with Kim Noordijk came third and McMary (by McLaren) with Phoebe Peters came fourth.
“Thalia rode very well in the test. Her horse was relaxed and was ridden smoothly; this was truly a perfect test,” continued judge Van Twist. “Rufus van Lotje is already very advanced in terms of test technique, and Lotje has a lot of experience. Her horse is well trained, and you can see that he has a lot of talent. Razzmatazz van Kim and McMary van Phoebe are two very different horses. Razzmatazz is very strong and can already close a little more, which made the transitions more dignified. McMary is super elegant and performed a nice test, but in the end, it was a close call.” The fifth combination to go to Amsterdam is Daxx (by Dynamic Dream) with Kim Alting, who scored 75.6.
Excellent tests and high scores among five-year-olds
Among the five-year-olds, three combinations scored above 80, with Perfect Ritme, ridden by Kim Noordijk, winning with 82.6. Bart Veeze rode Roman Empire (by Romanov) to second place with a score of 80.6, followed by Pino (by Blue Hors Farrell) and Mascha van Es with 80.2.
“Perfect Ritme has already competed more and gained experience, and this horse has always had qualities, but it has to happen at the right moment. As a combination, they have really grown since last summer, and Kim was able to continue riding him well. Roman Empire is also a nice horse, and Bart is very experienced. They also performed well,” says Van Twist, who is also full of praise for the number three. “Pino is also a nice horse and forms a beautiful and elegant combination with Mascha. She also rode nicely and harmoniously.” The other two combinations that will be going to Amsterdam are Hexagons Popeye (by Double Dutch) with Margriet Simonse (fourth with 76.4) and Succesion (by Secret) with Dinja van Liere (fifth with 76.2).
On to the finals!
The top five in both age categories have earned a coveted starting place in the final. It will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Jumping Amsterdam.
