Psyllium Slobber

Psyllium seed or flaxseed is known for its gel-forming properties and is used throughout the world to expel sand from the intestines of horses and ponies. Flaxseed, which is mildly laxative, supports this sand expelling action. In addition, Subli Psyllium Slobber contains prebiotics such as lignocellulose and inulin. Subli Psyllium Slobber is a complementary product that can be used temporarily.

A horse cannot digest sand. The winding position of the colon in the abdominal cavity also prevents the sand from being disposed of properly. If it accumulates, it can cause serious digestive problems. You can check yourself to see if your horse is suffering from sand in the intestines. Rinse out some manure in a bucket and see if any sand remains. Repeat this for several days, as there is not always the same amount of sand with the feces.

Feed advice

Temporary complementary product. Mix 100 grams per 100 kg body weight per day (example: 600 grams for a 600 kg horse) with the same amount of water and feed immediately, for 7 to a maximum of 10 days. In severe cases, provide twice daily for several days. Ensure that horses and ponies always have fresh drinking water and a salt block.
