Subli Competition Berkel Enschot

At the last selection competition of the Subli Competition for Young Dressage Horses Saturday in Berkel-Enschot, and thus the last chance to earn points for a starting spot the semi-finals, in both age categories the top three scored 80% and above. In the four-year-olds, victory went to Daxx (by Kim Alting, by Dynamic Dream), presented by Kim Alting. Best five-year-old was Pino (by Blue Hors Farrell) with Mascha van Es.

In the four-year-olds, Daxx under Kim Alting ran to the highest score of 83. Close behind was Rodin St-J (by Dynamic Dream) with Mara Visser with 82.2. Rituals De La Fazenda (by Magnum De La Fazenda), ridden by Thalia Rockx, came third with 80.0.

Spotlight

This age group was judged by Mathie Boomaars and Karin Retera. “Daxx is a very appealing and complete horse with three correct basic gaits, really an eye-catcher. A horse that already has a lot of self-carriage for his age and went through the test with great ease and a constant touch,” Mathie Boomaars said. “Rodin is a very diligent horse with a very good walk, both in the extension and in the working walk he stayed incredibly well in tact and loose through the body. For the walk we gave a nine and the trot and canter were also very appealing. For this level he also already showed a good ability to switch gears. It was a fresh and fine image to watch.” The judge was also enthusiastic about the third-placed Rituals De La Fazenda: “A very appealing image and Rituals was ridden very correctly to the hand. What stood out was the perfect calf yield, if this had been an L class we might have given a ten for that. In the test, Thalia did not make a single mistake and she sits like a picture. For posture and seat we gave a nine. It was a pleasure to watch how this horse was presented.”

Five-year-olds

In the five-year-olds, the numbers one and two were barely inferior to each other. With 84.8%, victory went to Pino, ridden by Mascha van Es, and with 84.0, Hexagon's Perfect Jr. (by Glock's Toto Jr) with Tessa Kole followed in second place. Third was Hexagon's Popeye (by Double Dutch), who ran 80.0 with Margriet Simonse.

Actually identical

This age category was also judged by Mathie Boomaars, this time together with Jan Wolfs. “Mascha with Pino and Tessa with Perfect were very matched and were actually identical to each other for us,“ said Mathie Boomaars. ”Pino was presented very correctly and was also very well confirmed in the trial-oriented parts. It was a test with a lot of ease both in the exercises, bridle and gaits. For the walk we gave a nine,“ said Boomaars, who was also able to give nines to Kole and Perfect. ”Tessa rode a very consistent test with a lot of harmony. This is the way we like to see a five-year-old walk and he also showed the ability to switch gears. Both for the posture and seat as for the harmony we gave a nine. Margriet showed a very consistent test with Popeye with a very sympathetic and friendly image. We gave an eight for all parts."

Quality horses

“In both groups we saw quality horses, with a few having some comments about the manner of presentation. But clearly most of the horses were presented as we would like to see,” Boomaars concluded.
